Your membership in IHCA-ICAL is an investment that pays off for you and your residents. IHCA-ICAL fights for the interests of its members and those they serve! Facility Membership is for Assisted Livings, Intermediate Care Facilities for Persons with Mental Retardation, and Skilled Nursing Facilities.

Education
Membership in IHCA-ICAL/AHCA provides vital information regarding current regulations as well as best practices. Over 100 hours per year are offered through our educational sessions at workshops and convention.

Lobbying
Membership in IHCA-ICAL/AHCA pays for staff in Boise and Washington DC to advocate for higher reimbursement and for regulations that make sense. IHCA-ICAL and AHCA are also aggressively working on TORT reform and staffing.

Networking
IHCA-ICAL Regional Representatives hold bi-annual meetings in their respective regions across the State of Idaho. IHCA-ICAL holds educational workshops in Northern Idaho, Central Idaho, and Eastern Idaho. Each of these meetings/events provides opportunities to network with other healthcare providers and keep up-to-date on current issues.

In response to the needs of our membership, IHCA-ICAL has partnered with other organizations to develop training programs and courses in the following areas:

  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Dietary Manager Online Training Course
  • Director of Nurses Services
  • Idaho Training Program for Licensed Nurses in Assisted Living

  • Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator-in-Training Course

Committee Involvement
IHCA-ICAL has many committees functioning at different levels. Membership in the association allows for active participation on committees of your choice. IHCA-ICAL’s current committees are:
